Memorial Day in Avondale
Avondale holds an annual Memorial Day Reflection Service at the Avondale Civic Center City Hall Reflection Pool. Local Veteran groups and City Officials will preside over a candlelight service and tribute to veterans. There is no charge. Memorial Day in Phoenix
The Pioneers Cemetery Association will be honoring those who have died in the service of their country at a ceremony at the Pioneer & Military Memorial Park. The public is invited to wear their vintage clothing and join representatives from various historic societies who will be in period attire. After the ceremony, tour the 107 year-old Smurthwaite House and the seven historic Phoenix cemeteries that make up the park. There will be historical activities for children.
